In an effort to improve children’s reading skills, PBS has launched PBS KIDS Island, the centerpiece of the network’s new web site at www.readytolearnreading.org/. The site features free games, activities, resources and tools for children, parents and teachers to use at home or in the classroom.
On PBS KIDS Island, children can build an online island carnival by playing reading games, such as rhyming, letter identification, alliteration, phonics, letter sequencing, phonemic awareness and reading/vocabulary.
